The November election is rare in that all three branches of government are up for grabs. We need to decide if we are going to spend the next four or more years fighting to expand civil rights, increase the minimum wage, improve healthcare, strengthen our public schools and more, or struggling to preserve what is already in place.

So where does socialism start? Well, let's just say it can start on Wally's farm in Geneva, Ohio, with 33 YCLers revved up to discuss Marxism, coalitions, and elections. The buckeye state hosted students and young workers from 14 different cities. A "tent city" was built that was called home for four days along with the chickens, cows, pigs, and cats.

Even though there is only a "one-foot" difference between Bush and Gore, there's a lot riding on that difference. For the mass of low wage workers, the difference is that Bush would veto a minimum wage hike, but Al Gore would sign it.

On Sept. 14, the New York club of the YCL joined a crowd of 500 in Newark, NJ, for a Hip-Hop Celebrity Auction.

The next President will have the power to nominate at least two, and maybe up to four, Supreme Court justices. This is a critical point because the court is closely divided on a number of important issues.
