Young people are a crucial voting bloc in this election, and we know it. We understand that the future is at stake right now – ours, our country’s and our world’s – and we take seriously the power and responsibility to shape it.
Generation Vote is our generation — millions of young Americans hungry for change for one simple reason: the issues we face seriously impact our lives and communities. Our commitment in 2008 is to demand leadership that shares our values, from the city council to the White House. Our agenda is about moving forward together. It is about fairness and sustainability, investment in our health and the health of our communities. It is about equal treatment under the law and equal opportunity to succeed for all people. We want universal access to education and medical care, alternatives to incarceration, living wages and affordable rents. We want a green economy, a sensible foreign policy, and a government whose priorities reflect our needs.
What we want is reasonable, and if politicians want our votes,
they better listen to what we have to say and then act on it.
