This is an exciting time! As many of you know, young people have been occupying Wall Street for three weeks already, and the “Occupy Movement” has spread to more than 200 other cities.
Check here to see how you can get linked up to the action, and to see an hour-by-hour schedule of the events happening in New York:

Also, the AFL-CIO hosted its young workers summit this past weekend, where 800 young workers and activists gathered to chart the future of America’s labor movement.
The week of October 10th to October 16th, the AFL-CIO is calling for a national week of action, including a National Teach-In on Wednesday, October 12th. On that day, Students and professors will gather at the University of California Washington Center from 7:00 to 8:30 (EDT), to hear Frances Fox Piven, other featured speakers, and student activists report on their campaigns for workers’ rights, fair taxation, and greater educational opportunities.
That event will be webcast live here at this link:

Can you set up a teach-in on your campus or at your high school? If you think you can, click on this link and let us know!

Comrades, we encourage you all to get out on the streets, out on your campuses, and out in your communities during these exciting times. All over the country, youth are talking about the immediate need to redistribute wealth and political power from the hands of a few to the working class majority. The YCL needs to be front and center in these discussions and actions.
