In 2006, I moved to West Milford, N.J., a large, rural township in the northwestern region of the state. The town had two grocery stores, a few liquor stores, a McDonald's, and a pharmacy, very few small businesses or department stores. I called the town home. I wasn't as aware of the growing economic problem at the time, but if I had been, I could have predicted that areas like West Milford would be the ones hit hardest.

The Communist Party of the USA expresses its outrage at Israel’s invasion of Gaza, carried out in defiance of world public opinion.

For the past 7 years, the Bush Administration has led an on-going "war on terror" in Iraq and Afghanistan. While we condemn terrorism, both individual acts and state sanctioned, we oppose the continued US occupation of these countries.

The Commission of Europe and North America of WFDY (CENA), strongly expresses its discontent about the violation of the democratic rights and liberties of the Communist Youth of Czech Republic as it remains penalized by the Ministry of Interior. We condemn the fact that KSM has been summoned to appear before a court on the 19th of March 2008 despite mass international reactions by organized groups, parties and movements from the entire political spectrum and, by thousands of anonymous and well known personalities from all over the world.

Youth and students took to the ballot box in 2006 to demand a change. Two of the top issues on the minds of young people were the war and funding for education. Yet Bush and his war supporters continue to ignore the voices of young people and the 70% of the US population that is against this war. They continue to spend billions of dollars on the war in Iraq that could be spent on funding education and rebuilding our cities from New Orleans to Minneapolis.

On October 27th, 2007 people will be gathering in 11 cities to raise our voices together and demand an end to the war.
